Tailored training courses
CJ Economics provides in-house training courses to regulators, regulated companies and other organisations interested in the economics of regulation and competition. The courses are delivered by Prof Cloda Jenkins and are designed closely with the client to ensure they meet the organisation's needs.
The purpose of the training courses is to provide those taking part with a better understanding of the economics underpinning regulatory and competition policy. We present economic arguments, often considered to be complex, in an accessible format with material that is directly relevant to those attending the course. We ensure that economic theory is combined with practical case studies to bring the material to life.
As courses are tailor-made the specific scope and structure of any course will vary by organisation. Courses tend to fall into one of three categories:
- Microeconomics (for non-economists or those a bit rusty in economics)
- Regulatory economics
- Competition economics
Courses are generally run as a series of half-day workshops, involving a mix of formal teaching and group working. The number of workshops required will depend on the scope and scale of the content to be covered. We can also design and deliver online learning options.
CJ Economics can also provide courses in more specialist areas including, for example, auction theory, environmental economics and benchmarking. If there is an area of economics that you are interested in please ask, we would be happy to design a course to meet your needs.
